Outreach Staff Services

  • Provide technical assistance in the form of in-service trainings and/or on-site collaboration with providers. This assistance can be tailored to the specific needs of individual students.
    • Topics may include:
      • Assistive Listening Devices
      • Audiology
      • Early Intervention
      • Educational Strategies and Materials
      • Evaluation Guidance
      • Listening and Spoken Language Strategies
      • Receptive and Expressive Language Strategies
      • Behavior Strategies
      • Educational Sign Language Interpreting
      • Materials available from the Outreach Library for the D/HH
      • Best Practices in Hearing Screenings
      • Conduct on-site observations of students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Provide immediate feedback to districts/centers by offering instructional suggestions and input specific to the student’s needs.
      • Provide state-wide professional development opportunities for teachers, speech language pathologists, educational interpreters, and other involved providers.
      • Maintain an Outreach Library which will provide current materials to support providers and families.
      • Collaborate, plan, and conduct educational/social events for Wyoming’s students who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families, and service providers:
        • WY-HI (Wyoming HI Contact) our annual state-wide social event.
