Outreach Staff Services
- Provide technical assistance in the form of in-service trainings and/or on-site collaboration with providers. This assistance can be tailored to the specific needs of individual students.
- Topics may include:
- Assistive Listening Devices
- Audiology
- Early Intervention
- Educational Strategies and Materials
- Evaluation Guidance
- Listening and Spoken Language Strategies
- Receptive and Expressive Language Strategies
- Behavior Strategies
- Educational Sign Language Interpreting
- Materials available from the Outreach Library for the D/HH
- Best Practices in Hearing Screenings
- Conduct on-site observations of students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Provide immediate feedback to districts/centers by offering instructional suggestions and input specific to the student’s needs.
- Provide state-wide professional development opportunities for teachers, speech language pathologists, educational interpreters, and other involved providers.
- Maintain an Outreach Library which will provide current materials to support providers and families.
- Collaborate, plan, and conduct educational/social events for Wyoming’s students who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families, and service providers:
- WY-HI (Wyoming HI Contact) our annual state-wide social event.
